D-Link Green / Energy-saving performance
Compliant with IEEE 802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE), the DGS-1100 series consumes less energy by reducing power consumption when port utilization is low. By deploying compatible devices, users can reduce operating costs and even reduce the need for additional cooling equipment, helping small and medium-sized businesses stay within their budgets. The DGS-1100 series also features D-Link Green technology, which helps automatically save energy. The switches monitor the link status of each port and significantly reduce interface power consumption when no link or network traffic is detected.
Easy to distribute
The DGS-1100 series supports an intuitive client-based utility (D-Link Network Assistant) and a web-based management interface. The client-based D-Link Network Assistant (DNA) discovers all D-Link Smart Managed switches within the same Layer 2 network segment, making initial setup quick and easy. This allows for extensive switch configuration and basic administration of discovered devices, including password changes and firmware updates. The web-based interface provides network administrators with an intuitive way to manage the switch down to the port level. The interface can be accessed from a web browser, allowing control of the switches from any PC connected to the network.
Surveillance and bandwidth control VLAN
The DGS-1100 series supports Surveillance VLAN for IP surveillance deployments. This provides video traffic with a dedicated VLAN and higher priority across the switch, separating surveillance traffic from the rest of the network. This ensures security and video traffic quality, saving businesses the additional cost of dedicated surveillance hardware. Bandwidth Control can reserve bandwidth per port for critical functions that require more bandwidth or have a higher priority.
Advanced features
The DGS-1100 series comes with advanced security features such as Static MAC, Storm Control, and IGMP Snooping. Static MAC allows users to create a MAC whitelist for specific ports, helping administrators restrict network access to only authorized devices. Storm Control monitors unknown broadcast, multicast, or unicast traffic and will begin blocking or dropping packets that could flood the network when a defined threshold is exceeded. IGMP Snooping can reduce the load on L3 multicast routers and save network bandwidth.

The DGS-1100 series features loopback detection and cable diagnostics to help network administrators quickly and easily find and resolve network problems. Loopback detection detects loops created by a specific port and automatically shuts down the affected port. Cable Diagnostics allows network administrators to quickly examine copper cable quality, identify cable types, and detect cable faults.
