When it comes to Power-over-Ethernet switches, this compact beauty packs a serious punch: it offers 802.3af/at PoE on all eight Gigabit Ethernet ports, delivering up to 30 watts per port, for a total available power of 140 watts. This means you can power devices like access points, IP phones, and video surveillance cameras simply by connecting them with an Ethernet cable, without the need for an additional power supply.
PoE
The DGS-1008MP features eight 10/100/1000BASE-T ports that support the IEEE 802.3at PoE+ protocol. Each of the eight PoE+ ports can supply up to 30 watts, for a total available PoE power output of 140 watts. PoE is especially suitable for applications far from electrical outlets or when you want to minimize the clutter of extra cables.
Superior performance
No configuration is required, making installation quick and easy. It supports Auto-MDI/MDI-X on all ports, eliminating the need for crossover cables when connecting to another switch. Auto-negotiation on each port senses the speed of network devices (10, 100, or 1,000 Mbps) and intelligently adjusts for compatibility and optimal performance. The switch is designed without fans to ensure quiet operation wherever it is installed. With cable speed filtering and store-and-forward switching, the DGS-1008MP maximizes network performance while minimizing the transmission of corrupted network packets.
Energy saving
The DGS-1008MP switch features D-Link Green 3.0 and IEEE802.3az Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) technology to reduce operating costs without sacrificing performance or functionality. With D-Link Green technology, the switches constantly monitor the link status and network utilization of each port. The switches can also automatically detect cable length and reduce transmission power usage for shorter cables. By pairing EEE-enabled devices with the DGS-1008MP switches, businesses can significantly reduce power consumption by automatically putting ports into sleep mode when not in use.
