COAXIAL WATER CONDENSER 5.28 kW
FOR REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS
Description:
A coaxial water condenser is a type of heat exchanger used in refrigeration systems. This device operates on the principle of condensation, which is the process of a gas changing from a gaseous state to a liquid state, releasing heat.
Coaxial condensers are preferred for their heat transfer efficiency, used when space is limited, as their coaxial design allows for a smaller footprint compared to other types of condensers.
The coaxial water condenser works by exploiting the principle of heat exchange between two fluids flowing in opposite directions inside a coaxial tube. The tube is composed of two concentric ducts: an internal one and an external one. The fluid to be cooled (for example, the gaseous refrigerant in a refrigeration system) flows inside the smaller tube, while the water, which acts as the refrigerant, flows in the annular space between the two tubes.
During the condensation process, heat is transferred from the refrigerant to the water, causing the refrigerant to condense from a gas to a liquid. This heat exchange is made more efficient by the large contact surface between the two fluids and the opposite direction of flow, which maximizes the thermal gradient and therefore heat transfer.
The main advantage of a coaxial condenser is its compactness and efficient heat exchange, making it ideal for applications where space is limited and high cooling capacity is required. Furthermore, using water as the refrigerant can be more cost-effective and sustainable in some situations, especially where cooling water is readily available.
